Another bit of info is, that you'll have to try to snag 747 either before 0000 UTC or after 0500 UTC, as the 400 kW output of the transmitter drops to 60 kW, during the intervening hours.

Maybe that explains why I haven't heard a heterodyne from 747 recently. Is the power reduction in the overnight something new for them?
By the way, has anyone heard the heterodyne on 1152 kHz the last couple of evenings? I'm presuming it's Romania, since the 1152 in London is directional going south into that metropolis, and just under 100KW transmitter power (no idea of the effective radiated power though), so that's somewhat unlikely to be heard in the U.S., but the Romanian station at least at one time was listed as 1 MW, and many observers are thinking it's running half, or less power. The 1152 signal does start going away right around the sunrise in Romania. Odd thing is, I haven't been hearing the other heterodynes like I have heard in the past, such as 693, 747, 783, 837, 873, 891, 963, 1017, 1116, 1269, 1377 or 1557...just 1152 all by itself.

Those Aussie stations you mention are not very high powered (17 & 5 kW respectively), so bagging them would be almost a miracle.
No high power Japanese on 1116, but there's a 600 kW Chinese transmitter you may be able to snag. It's situated fairly close (200km) to China's east coast, carries CNR5 programming and operates between 2100 - 1700 UTC. You may be able to snag this during the early morning hours (after 4am) from your location.

I've heard 1116 in Brisbane very well in Hawaii. I know that it has reached the west coast and has been logged in the Pacific Northwest by DXers there.

aka the Sangean ATS-808. Well, I'm not an expert in the differences between your DX-380/ATS-808 and my DX-440/ATS-803a, but if the performance of my DX-440 is something to go by, you should definitely be able to bag some Asians with your DX-380!
I'm pressed for time tonight, but I'll soon post some of the Asian power houses for you.

Tincap....
I'm going to be right up the road from you Monday night in Ottawa. Well...actually the hotel is by the 417 and Terry Fox in Kanata. Relatively noise free...even with all the big box stores, restaurants, etc. nearby. I've talked myself into taking the DX 375. Any tips or suggestions?

From memory, I'm going to say that WSCR definitely makes it to Detroit and beyond into Canada for about a half hour on the 401 freeway before it finally succumbs to splatter from CFTR. WGN doesn't have an adjacent channel problem (now that CHYR/710 is off). It gets to Windsor and points east, but is weaker than WSCR. WBBM gets chewed up in much the metro by WJR and CKLW. Still, it makes it into Canada, if barely. I've heard WLS around the Detroit airport (west of town), but going east of there, it doesn't survive the 25 miles or so of Detroit-Windsor urban landscape.
All of this assumes a good car radio. No guarantee my rental unit will have one.

Tips? Yes, the food at the Royal Oak is great!
What I'll do (note to self) is concentrate on some DXing that evening and post them (as I normally do) for you to give a go.
Speaking of...semi-regular Absolute Radio on 1215 kHz is trying to push its way past strong adjacents WPHT and WHKW. I'm getting audio, at times, but the other two are really difficult to null out tonight.
