770 an embarrassment

I think they should:

1) Put all the talk on 770

2) Make 620 all music 24/7

3) Find a way to get the nighttime power 620 had in the late 80's

Never going to happen under the new FCC rules, plus the cost to put up four or five more towers is outrageous now due to costs of metals.

The land costs could be outrageous, but with so many AM's going away, the used tower supply has to huge. I know some come down with explosions at the base and or guys, but in a lot of areas local governments and insurance risk will not allow this so they come down section by section. Also I will bet there are some less than 5KW AM transmitters available at a good price. Several class "B"s have down graded to D so there could be switching and phasing equipment to be had for a good price. The hard part is finding an engineer that can "put it together". A FM translator could be hard get in the area due to the "class B" conditions. IMHO this one of the "best" 250 watt deals I seen.

Never happen because Stevens makes the majority of his money on health talk.
