770 KFB look out!

Sounds fine to me. Anything that moves listeners to 770 is great. Heck, when sign-off time goes back to 6 PM, maybe I'll give them a promo.

When does WLS do this?

KQV?

P.S. I bet it gets ratings.

Actual the question should be::

Actually, didn't someone on this board a few months ago propose that KQV do this?

I've been suggesting that KQV do this (a la WABC Rewound) for years. Apparently the management is less than interested, which is a shame, since it would get plenty of media attention. There was also discussion of an on-air "Pittsburgh Radio Reunion" when I was at WJJJ and 3WS. That hasn't happened, either, and I don't think it will.

A Pittsburgh Radio Reunion would be wonderful ... but it might prove to be a painful reminder of what radio used to be in this market.
Indeed, it would be a painful reminder of where this market used to rank (23rd isn't bad, but it doesn't draw the attention Pittsburgh did as a Top-10 with two major network owned-and-operated outlets among its leading radio stations).

Also, it would be hard to promote a KQV Rewound in a market where oldies have far more reach than they do in New York (the fight over WCBS-FM 101.1 notwithstanding). How does KQV promote it against the Pittsburgh Oldies on WLSW-FM 103.9 or ... for that matter ... WKFB-AM 770?
And can KQV do a show that doesn't sound on one end like Doug Hoerth on WJAS-AM 1320 or the Diner on WWSW-FM 94.5 Sunday nights, or on the other like Radio 9 on WRCT-FM 88.3?

Also, technically, ownership-wise, WABC is still the same WABC it was in its Musicradio 77 days. (Technically may get a further stretch once Disney decides what to do with the ABC Radio Network and its O&Os, including WEAE-AM 1250 here.)

By the way, I'm fairly certain KQV still has ... somewhere in its files ... the carts and wild tracks it would need for a really good Rewound show.

P.S., Clarke, I'd like to further discuss this, but I won't be back at my work computer until Monday.
