That's what some poster on that other message board said...where do these ideas come from???
 
That would solve the Rush & Hannity problem, wouldn't it?

Disney might use it for ESPN Descartes. Certainly a better signal that 1050. Or Radio Disney.

It also frees Cumulus up to buy some of the CBS stations at some point. The meeting of two rumors.

Disney has to start thinking about what it's going to do when the Cumulus deal with ABC Radio News runs out next year.
 
Disney still has the service mark on the WABC call letters and leases them back to Cumulus. Same with all the other former Disney stations. I bet Cumulus doesn't like writing that check. They might like to get rid of that obligation. It's left over from the Citadel deal, which really was an awful deal. Maybe one of the worst ever.
 
I haven't seen anything to confirm this rumor and I have serious doubts that Disney is interested in acquiring stations. Their last transaction in the city involved a lease, not a direct buy.

Also, wouldn't Cumulus be better off giving up the WABC call letters than letting go of a blowtorch signal in the #1 market? Unless they're willing to downgrade to, say, 620 or 970...

Why not...seems like everyone else does it! Ever heard or sarcasm to make a point?? Read some of the posts on message boards and you'd think the posters were in contact with the spirit world with the outlandish things they "report". Sorry if it pissed you off, but just reporting what was said!

Said where? Provide a link to I say you lied. I checked Sniffen and Venta and I don't see it. Besides, it's a move that makes no sense.

The ghost of General Sarnoff came to me in a dream and told me Comcast is going to buy back 66 AM. And Macy's is going to buy 710 AM. (This is an example sarcasm to make a point.)
 
sorry, but that's not even stating that this is a roomer. Poster is suggesting that he sees this as more likely then CBS sports radio being put on wabc, not that this is a roomer that has been speculated.
 
Did anyone say to was rumor??? Just said that was what someone said on that "other" board. Boy you folks just don't get it do you?? I was pointing out how outlandish some of the posts on message boards are. Read others in that thread on that "other" board and you will see folks suggesting everything from CBS Sports to WINS on 770, to the return of Musicradio. Please tell me you don't expect things to be true because you read it on the internet??? Relax a bit folks...life is too short!
