790 AM oldes

driving into Nashville this morning just after 4:30...found a fairly decent signal
on 790 playing 60's oldies...jukebox style (dead air between cuts)....
no imaging at all...no legal ID at 5:00.
not WQSV Ashland City, TN (my first guess)...any suspects come to mind?

I wonder if it some 790 station on the process of changing formats and/or ownership...I also have no clue what it is. Or maybe a pirate??

Hmmm... a stumper, right?

Only other 790 I can find is impossible KBRV-ID w/ 29w nights.

Doubt a pirate if it's been heard in both Nashville and Knoxville. Somebody maybe not powering down. Don't look to radio-locator.com for any kind of accurate format info

How sure are you it wasn't WQSV? That sure sounds like what they run at night...

wasn't aware WQSV ran oldies at night...that solves it quickly (and makes sense)
thanks

I've been wondering about this station for months now. In St. Louis, it usually comes in just after sunset and sticks around for a bit until Memphis, Louisville, and Cuba battle over 790. No IDs, no commercials, no announcements, just a steady stream of oldies.

Yep, that's them. They *do* ID, but only as much as absolutely required. (one ~2sec announcement per hour) Not 100% sure I know why they bother.

I've heard them in Indiana at sunset, but not much thereafter & figured it could be explained by the difference between "FCC sunset" and "real" sunset. They have done the "high school football exception" (to stay at full power after dark) but can't imagine they'd be doing that this time of year.
