I've heard them in Wyoming as lately as a few weeks ago.. heard sports on 790 just a few days ago but not sure if its them, think it is though

Yes it is off, I can hear a very faint KABC from Los Angeles.

Seem all they did was simulcast KFIG half the time, maybe they are going to switch to CBS sports, which was on 105.5 in the past or go Talk-Radio.

Let’s hope for CBS,ESPN has become unlistenable the last 10-15 years or better yet , put CBS on 940 and move ESPN to 790

By chance are they back on? I have ESPN on 790 here in Laramie, WY this morning (Tue Nov 5th at 635am mountain) and when I've heard ESPN here before, it's been KFPT Clovis.

They are moderately directional away from your direction, so you should not get a consistent signal from them.

I don't know that they are doing anything wrong, it's just that I have listened to 790 for years here in Fresno and it just seems like a lot of nights for the past few months KABC is stronger than it's ever been.

790 is only a fraction of the watts too, compared to KFI 640 and KNX 1070 which are both 50k watts, which come in a lot better, especially at night.

Maybe you live in 790's pattern null to the South. It seems BCB skip conditions have been stronger this past year than they have been for many years.

Comparing KFI and KNX to 790 Fresno is like comparing apples to oranges and day to night

KNX and KFI are 50kw non directional 24/7.. i can hear KNX here in Wyoming well past sunset every morning and usually well before sunset every day

790 is highly directional

I think he was comparing KABC with KFI and KNX not KFPT, but your reply is the same for both, they are both very directional and limited in power day and night,LOL.
