Has anybody heard anything new about KBET? When will they launch their format? Will it be all paid programming? etc.

I enjoy the music they currently play. It is some of the most peaceful relaxing music I have ever heard. One of my favorite songs they play is the instrumental version of "The Music Of The Night" from the Phantom of the Opera.

I know I'm one of the few people that ever listens to 790, but I am not looking forward to the day they take off their wonderful music and replace it with 24/7 infomercials and/or more terrible syndicated talk shows.
 
Well Beasley has bought the station and they plan to upgrade it to 5,000 watts during the day. I also dont think they have taken control of the station because they would probaly be playing the standards format during the testing. So basically they are just keeping the transmitter warm with the new age music loop thats always on.

Who is the voice of the legal ID on this station? He sounds so familiar to me, Is it Doug James?

I wonder if there is any chance they will stick with a music format when Beasley takes over? I like all the loops of music they play. I especially like the loop with all of the ABBA and Oak Ridge Boys songs on it. Another great song on KBET is "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers. The Lou Rawls version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" KBET plays is awesome!

In case the person who does their music reads this board (which I think is within the realm of possibility because I am now hearing "Music Of The Night" on multiple loops) my request is "Eres Tu".

Sometimes I wonder if I am getting old before my time to like all of this adult standards music. Then again I think one of the best songs of any format right now is "We Fly High" by Jim Jones.

I just discovered this station today. The music is very peaceful and relaxing. Even though they are repeating it, I am enjoying it very much. Along with the breeze blowing outside and my chimes sounding every now and then, it is a very wonderful day!!
 
KBET hasn't been so relaxing lately. Over the past 24 hours there have been times where you will hear the sound of a CD skipping. It's a single note that keeps skipping over and over. Sometimes this goes on for hours. It's happening right now as I post this.
