790 Shaking Up the Lineup

That's one I wouldn't mind. I think brining in Bob Neal full-time would be a great addition to the station. Sadly, it probably won't happen.

Steve Holeman and Dennis Scott sound better than anything on that station. They have a good chemistry on the air during the Hawks games.
It would be good to hear them do a show together that could be on during the day when someone might hear them.

After listening today it occurred to me that nearly everyone on the air at 790 has virtually the same broadcasting style. This obviously stems from the aforementioned insular environment they keep over there in which they usually only promote their buddies, regardless of talent or lack thereof. (And speaking of lack: this occurred to me while taking a brief listen to the utterly woeful midday with Woolverton and Adams.) Their approach, cadence, phrasing, etc. are all too similar to Dimino, who is not coincidentally the most forceful of their personalities. Thankfully they don't use double the number of words necessary as Dimino does, but his imprint is obvious throughout their lineup besides the Stews, (who are obviously a disaster all their own). Chernoff had it too, although he at least a sense of humor to go with it. The only one who has his own style is Mike Bell, who also happens to be the only pro of the whole bunch besides Cellini. Go figure!

I've always thought that the Stews sounded like BIG fans of The Bottom Line right down to using "sir".

If 790 put the Bottom Line back in mid-days from 10-3 or 10-2 they would give Cowherd a run for his money. It was a very good listen and it may just shake Dimino and Cellini out of the doldrums they have fallen into career wise.
If then they went over and got Buck and Kincade to do afternoons they would have 680 playing headline news in a matter of months.

AAAAAAAAGH. Sorry to yell but I was just listening to Woolverton and Adams and felt like screaming about how annoying they both sound. Woolverton is really horrible. He is always snickering at his lame attempts of humor and Adams sounds like he has to hit the oxygen during breaks.

They might give Cowherd a run, but Cowherd costs nothing and Dimino and Cellini command big enough price tags that probably can not be recovered with mid day advertising dollars. Woolverton and Adams keeps it local and cheap (and yes it shows in the product).

Buck and Kincaid are not going anywhere, anytime soon.

I can't stand Cowherd. He is the epitome of a dim bulb who's convinced he's smart. Kind of like Dimino, come to think of it. How he got/keeps that gig is beyond me.

I got nothin for sports middays now. Nothin'!
