790's Monsters of the Midday

I know it's been said before, I've said it myself, but listening so far this week reminds me how much better the show is without Chuck Smith. That's not necessarily a knock against Smith as he brings his own good qualities to the table, but the chemistry between Chernoff and Oliver makes for a much more entertaining show. Just my opinion. Maybe it's time they found another role for Smith.

The original Southern Comfort with Chernoff and Oliver was one of the better shows 790 has had. I thought it was a shame when they broke that show up originally. Those two have good chemistry and the lack of chemistry with Smith really shows when all three of them are together.

You might as well put Smith on Mayhem. They have so many voices talking over each other on that show already, nobody will notice one more.

Completely agree with you on the old Southern Comfort show. That was my favorite show on the station at the time. I tried to give Smith a chance, but it just doesn't work.

Chernoff and Oliver is much better than any other combination of the three. I'm glad they at least got Chuck Oliver back on during the day. I'm a an Alabama fan and he's still my favorite personality on that station.

From the rumor mill around town, Chuck Smith is not even under contract anymore with 790. Maybe Zoneguy can clarify that one, but it is being talked about in the sales community.
I have even heard that he wants to make a jump to 680 to try and replace Jamie Dukes.
There would be no reason for 680 to add him as it is clear that without him on 790, his show has a much better sound and dynamic.
Plus you add in that he is a guy that gets into physical confrontations with co-workers and you have a bad combo.

Can anyone verify this for me?

since we are speaking of Monsters of the Mid-day, is it true that John Kincade appeared on the show at the 790 10 year party? I heard that happened but have not been able to verify it. I would be shocked if it actually happened, but heard that it did. I guess it is a classy move on his part, but it seems curious to me if it happened.
