While out for my morning walk, I strolled by the new WNOX building for a look. From the outside, it appears to be a very nice facility. It's the old Danka building, located just off of Kingston Pike on the north side of the road. There's a new satellite dish on the roof and a utility tower behind the building. The utility tower has a side-mounted STL antenna, pointed at the WNOX transmitter. The top of the utility tower is open and terminates in a short mast which could accomodate an additional vertical antenna (Marti, etc.) There's plenty of parking and lots of space inside. It's perfectly situated, right in the middle of the action. Close to stores, restaurants, easy I-40 access, etc.

I give Mr. Pirkle and Mr. Brantley a "thumbs-up" on their choice of location! :)

You must be living in T. Lynn's old jewelry store building. During the winter you can keep warm by burning his old bounced checks. Be careful. The white powder in the carpet might not be plaster dust!

No not T Lynn. It looks really nice. Stucco building lots of glass windows and STL tower in back. They got a sign on Kingston Pike too. Good location smack dab in the middle of everything.

Meanwhile Citadel is negotiating a trade for underpinning and wheel removal for 98.7's new satellite sales office in Coalfield.

I heard that they are taking new pictures of talent for logo change for 98.7. They are going to 5 by 7 size pictures from 8 1/2 by 11 because of the smaller coverage area.

Actually, I was talking about MN Maniac. He works in radio, so I figure he's squatting somewhere like the rest of us.

Heard 98.7 doing a car dealer remote in Morristown. That was interesting. Wonder how they monitored their own signal to pull it off?

T. Lynn? God I thought I was the only really O L D pilgrim on this board! Speaking of fun places with history. Reportedly when U 102 (WMYU) moved into the former Jake Bank building on the pike and started pulling down some walls they found bags of pills in small cut out spaces and some fine Smoky Mountain Wacky Backy in plastic bags. Not sure but reportedly Gabe managed to dispose of all of it?

This talk show war is just starting, should be in full bloom come UT football season.

Hot 104.5 has been doing remotes up there for years and you can't even sniff their signal up there, so it's not just a Citadel thing.
