80's Music on Studio 108

I tuned in last night and heard a ton of 80's tunes on Studio 108. I thought it was only supposed to be the same 50 disco songs every Saturday night. Opinions?

Ex,
if you have been a longtime listener to the show you would know that 80s music is very much apart of the show. When Studio108 first started in November 1993 the shows title was "70's Saturday Night" and stuck just to 70's music, but after the first host left in February 1994 the show took a different direction and added 80's music, went from 2 and 3 stopsets per hour to just 1 and changing it's title to "Studio108 - connecticut's Saturday Night Dance Party". I should know this, I was the 2nd host with duties lasting over 7 1/2 years (1994-2001). Disco / Dance music didn't just end with the 70's! K.C. and The Sunshine Band had hits in the 80's as well as Michael Jackson and many others. I was notorious for playing 80's music, there were times the PD added new stuff to the playlist (Cher - I Believe, The Macarena, Ricky Martin - Livin la Vida Loca and Mombo #5 just to name a few).
D.J. Jose does a great job and his numbers are still hot even after 15 years when the show first started.

Don't you just love it when people like "ex" listen once to a specialty show on a radio station or they listen to one daypart and think they they have the entire story. It's like reading the cliff notes of a book and thinking they've truly read the book.

SallysPizza: That's just the way of the world. There are some people out there who have the attention span of the last news cycle.
