820 OH MAMA!

Nearly a local grade signal in KEY WEST on Monday...followed it West to middle keys Tuesday morning..picked it back up on the West end of Allagator Alley..and NEVER lost it until well north of Valdosta, GA. Some better audio processing and this is a big BIG signal. If truly IS the BIG ONE! Unbelieveable!

Yes indeed, JL. I was down there a few weeks ago. 970 and 1380 also make it well, but nothing tops 820's daytime sig.

And now that IBLOC is turned off, I can actually get a daytime signal on 800 -- WSHO, New Orleans at 1 kW! Useless Christian format though.

David..690's signal out of Jax is much louder with thier processing. I would love to hear some good old homebrew WAPE style audio on 820, and some compelling and powerful imaging to brighten it up, but man what a great signal! BTW on the way back from Tampa Bay this week we listened to Al Gardner on WBT doing election results..still a smooth talker that Al. Knows a good sparerib when he eats one too.

I was down by Placida and Boca Grande the other day and 820 comes in with a strong signal there... However it has some strong co channel interference from Englewood south. Spanish language assume its Cuba but dont hear the normal R R R in morse code of radio Reloj. It is about 20 hz off freq from 820 in Tampa as the signal comes and goes every 5 seconds. Rather annoying hetrodyne. Speaking of WBT, now that sunrise is a little later, I listen to Al Gardner a lot of times on WBT before 1110 in Tampa goes on the air.

Oh Mama indeed I am from Crawfordville Fla. (big bend) and I get AM-820 as well here in Crawfordville and Tallahassee as well.

820 must be a good station that's on to something. If WWBA were so insignificant as many here presuppose, it wouldn't be attacked so feverishly.

Sounds like agendas on the line to keep real radio and real broadcasters from going on the air.

820 is indeed a monster. When I lived on the east side of Orlando, I could easily hear it on any random AM radio. Although I'm guessing this is no longer the case since WEUS-810-Orlovista has since signed on (?)

Interestingly enough, I also heard 820 on my car radio (daytime) when I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Interesting because there is a null in that direction to protect Fort Worth.

Political coorespondent Jeff Greenfield said it best... "I never believe conspiracy theories, incompetence always explains so much more."
