850 WKVL is now country too

WKTI is satellite classic country, I guess they forgot about the old web site when they were programming the golden "pop" oldies.

AM 850 WKVL is still doing their version of classic country with local jocks. I heard that it's back up for sale by the current owner. If you have $250k laying around you can pick it up.

I think I saw somewhere on the boards here where the land under WKVL's towers (off E. Emory Rd. in Powell) is up for sale. Different ownership than the station too. Seems that would be a big risk to locate new tower(s) for an AM station these days.

That is true, Horne Properties still owns the tower site land and has had a for sale sign on it for some time now. If the current WKVL owners don't buy it and someone else does then they will likely have to move the towers and that will be costly with all the engineering and tower construction work that will have to be done. If they do have to move the towers it might be worth looking into dropping power so they could go non-directional.

The notorious thread reviver strikes again!

With WKTI being sold, does that mean one less classic country station?

Also, any updates on 850? I was wondering; If that station needed to vacate their current transmitter site, could they find a parcel of land, say southeast of town that could 'blanket' the town and primary service area with a decent signal?
