In the Great Trashing Of Sports Radio In The Triangle, 2009, 850 The Buzz was eliminated as a valid radio station. The "stuff" on "their" website is placeholder by the new owners of the domain name.
The nickname "The Buzz" has moved to 620. The new website (espntriangle.com) is kkkorporate cookie-cut from ESPN's cutter. What passes for a blog has moved to WRAL's "Sports Fan" page.
Apparently, they haven't gotten that far yet; 850 is still simulcasting 99.9. I don't know if they're still airing Don Imus in the morning, but aside from that, they're still simulcasting 99.9. Hmmm... I wonder if they'll air the BCS championship game while 99.9 airs the Hurricanes, or will another station pick up the game? It definitely won't be 620, since they'll be airing the Duke women's basketball game at Clemson...
As an aside, the one on-air personality that made Triangle sports radio relevant is popping up on Sirius/XM on Monday. Bomani Jones will be live on Hardcore Sports Radio, channel 98.
