I noticed on one of my HD Radios these three frequencies are available, but nothing is on them, I receive a full signal, 5 bars on 87.5, 3 on 87.7 and 1 on 87.9. Will these frequencies be used in the future.

I'm sure it is channel 6. The channel 6 allocation is from 82 to 88 mhz. If you have seen a digital tv signal on a spectrum analyzer it pretty much fill the whole 6 mhz.
I noticed all the HD radios I ever saw only have 87.9 as the lowest frequency, the new Sangean I have goes further down, are new receivers adding these two frequencies..

87.75 is aural frequency for analog TV...DTV covers the entire 82-88 with its 19MB data stream...it's shows as signal but since it's HD TV which is NOT the same encoding or modulation scheme as HD radio, it is not decoded..apples and oranges
87.9 is the lowest FM channel,#200 but only two signals are licensed to it in the US..both class D low power stations...some analog TV6 LPTV stations use the aural as a FM signal....not entirely within the rules but loopholes exists. That will go away when LPs are required to drop analog for digital only..was supposed to happen in Sept 2015 but the FCC stayed that due to the auction and repack..
