I wonder if WCRF will ever sell out? They have a pretty good coverage area in NE Ohio.

I don't see Moody divesting any properties anytime soon...

No, but I think they might grab some cash for 103.3 (an extremely valuable, full coverage signal on a commercial frequency) in exchange for a reduced signal (like 92.3 or 107.3 or 107.9). Not to say this would happen, but it is the only way that I see it happening, if at all.

There was a rumor that Moody approached Case Western with a deal to buy WRUW to use as WCRF, so they could cash out 103.3, but CWRU was not interested.

I see absolutely no reason any of the above would happen..Moody had (as of 2013) 55 years of building an audience on that frequency, not only in Cleveland, but all over Northeast Ohio..It would not make sense to move to a another frequency that would reduce their possible coverage area..Translators are fine but they don't cover that well..

Can't move it due to CBS' 97.1 in Detroit.
Likewise, the Detroit and Cleveland 93.1s are directional away from each other (and 93.1's tower is near Richfield, south of most of the rest of the Cleveland sticks).

93.1 Is not directional. In fact, 93.1 and Kiss 96.5 share the same antenna. Both are in Brecksville on top of the WTAM AM 1100 tower. Another fun interference fact: Contour crossover does not count when it occurs over open water such as Lake Erie. The limiting factor for Clevelands 93.1 is Youngstowns Adjacent channel 93.3, not a Detroit station.

Who knows, but the logo is big enough for drivers to see and think about tuning in. Speaking of billboards, 99X has just put one up along I-480. It has the logo with the "Cleveland's New Rock Alternative" slogan and 99.1 frequency in a white background. Interesting to see that station with a billboard, but that's pretty darn good.

When will they take down, or change, their Christmas based sign that is on Interstate 71 heading north towards Cleveland?
I saw that one as well. Still keeping up Christmas related billboards...No Bueno!

There is a "no bueno" 87.7 billboard on I-480 in Parma as well....hope nobody was tuning in for the first time last week when the station's quality sounded like a cheap internet stream, that my friends is no bueno for sure!

Cleveland Magazine just did an article on 87.7 for the February issue. I think the station is starting to pick up some steam. I can see more fine tuning for this year with Cleveland's Sound.

They really have to expand on their music library. I believe after 6 hours they repeat the same songs. Hire 2 more dj's. I am no fan of streaming music anymore. I honestly believe this station will go to 2015 and then go POOF with the analog signal.

I agree with you on everything you mentioned. I would love to see some local jocks on middays, evenings, overnights and weekends too. Archie and Rachel aren't enough.

The music really needs to expand. They keep playing No Doubt's version of "It's My Life" instead of Talk Talk's. Changing up the songs and versions would be an improvement. They add more 80's, 2000's and newer music, along with some more AAA artists/songs as well.

Seems like they have been experiencing ALOT of technical difficulties lately, they were off the air again this morning. Wonder what the deal is over there. Agreed that they should have live DJs for the mid-day and evenings.

All I needed to hear was a Fat Boy Slim piece of garbage on 87.7. That really turned me off. Let's see Archie a former CBS guy....The PD Ryan Benes used to work for Clear Channel. This station is doomed. Yes I want Talk Talk's "It's My Life" and more of V107.3's playlist thrown in. If you think now..107.3 wasn't that shabby...

Actually he's the Imaging Director there, not the Program Director.

Ok my bad....But any CC connection puts a bad taste in my mouth. So who is the PD at 87.7? Is it Rachel ? The repetition of music is just awful. I hate when they don't play the actual album cut of a song. I thought highly of 87.7. But it is all business to me.

Marty Bender is the PD. He was once a part of M105.
