87.9 playing rap

> The pirate on 87.9 just east of downtown has been playin rap

It sounds like a Pirate! I would report it to the FCC

I live in Oak Forest, off TC Jester/43rd and there is a 94.9 in this area broadcasting a continuous news feed, it sounds like FOX News. The signal is very strong, just north of 610 off TC Jester. I'm assuming this may be a pirate as well.

This interferes with KACC 89.7. I will definately report it, TODAY! I will be near that area today, in my travels. I will check it out. However, I won't be near the other area. I will include it in my call.

It does directly affect KACC, which many people like to listen. I can assume that you don't care whether it interferes or not. You have no credibilty whatsover. So, can I count on another threatening email from you? You remember the one, where you said you knew where I lived and you and all your free form radio buddies (both of them) were going to come and shut my pie-hole? Test my resolve and find out how the results will have an impact on your life.

Excuse me for butting in with a serious technical question while you two are in childish, threatening mode but how the hell does 87.9 interfer with 89.7??? That almost 2 MHz away.....it should not cause ANY problems.I am not a pirate lover myself...but at the same time, you seem to be distorting the laws of physics here!
PLEASE explain; it just DONT jive...(they never taught me this in my EE classes or the 30+ years I have been around in broadcast engineering)

You are absolutely correct! It's my mistake. I reversed the numerals. I stand corrected. However, the fact is, it is illegal and it has been reported to the FCC.

Dude, come on.
You should have learned last time.
If you don't want your pirate station reported, DON'T POST IT HERE!
If it's anything like the one that was on 96.1, it's probably worthless anyway.
How are these pirates serving the interest of the community (you know, what radio is supposed to be for)?

I find it funny that in the first paragraph of the first link they attack the FCC for moving to eliminate public interest protections when the pirates aren't really doing anything themselves to serve the public interest.

Also, carp is yummy.

I doubt it...

It could very well be the legal mini-transmitter in a SIRIUS or XM receiver...

Those suckers can get about a half-mile depending on conditions...

Anybody who wants to rebroadcast Fox News as a pirate is nutty anyhow

Sorry to butt in

If there is somthing on the radio that you do not like just change the station or turn your radio off do not be a narc and turn them in. The FCC wants to fine cable TV & XM radio broadcasters that is just worng they can not do that. We should not allow the FCC to tells us how to think & feel somthing needs to be done now if not this country will be more like communist in the next 5 to 15 years or so. Guys do remember about Free Speech to speak our minds that includes radio and tv will Free Speech is now a load of crap. If this type of stuff keeps happining you will not be allowed to own a gun, it is time to stop the FCC.

Pirate Radio Free Radio 4 Life just change the station or turn off your radio if you do not like them<P ID="signature">______________

Poor Brian. I actually feel sorry for him. His lack of education is very obvious. He has led himself to believe that he has a fightable cause, which of course, he doesn't. His time would be better spent getting an education. Plus, he could really inform himself about the realities of the radio business. The internet can offer many ways to find out about anything simply by exploring. Then, perhaps he will not only learn how to work in this business, but also, learn to express himself intelligently.

Brian, if you want to be in this business, do it the right way. Learn how to properly use the english language in both the spoken and written word. You're not getting any younger. Right now, you're just an old teenager. It's time to grow up, move on and do something positive for yourself.

Having stated that, I will take a cue from CW. I will end this childish dribble on my part and not discuss it any further, as my thoughts on this subject are well known. Just know that when these posts are being made, you will think to yourself, "Uh-Oh, Tiller will be on the phone to the FCC." You will be right.

Having your own pirate is a very good way to pick up women at the local pub (if it's within range of the pirate though).
