870 & 1470: WHAT'S THE VERDICT?

Now that 870/1470 (Maine) have been on for over a week, what do we all think? I've always enjoyed hearing "not for prime-time-on-FM" music formats on AM. Is it going to sink or swim? This is a moderate trend in America.... oldies on AM. Some siazable signals are doing this, such as 790 in Providence with Shannon's "True Oldies Channel" and 940 in Montreal. Locally 870/1470 seem to center on 1962-1973 with some 1956-61 fringe, but they seem to be de-emphasize rock. (940 in Montreal yesterday played Ike & Tina's Proud Mary next to Rare Earth's I Just Want To Celebrate".... two very uptempo songs that you would not hear back-to-back on 870/1470). - So what do you think?

I think they sound pretty good.I'm glad it's got a local sound vs. Scott Shannons True Oldies. How about some Jingles. If you like music from that era,it's great to have 3 choices on the am dial.My presets are on 730,870 & 1490.

Same presets for me, but I find myself gravitating toward 870 more often. Good format!
