873 khz Radio Rossii

No luck yet. The biggest pest I'm trying to null out is New Orleans' 870 WWL...from up here, just south of Ottawa, Ontario, LOL.

Have either of you guys ever been able to hear the U.S. Armed forces station on 873 out of Germany? I forget whether they're 10kw or 50kw (or perhaps even something else.) They own the channel at night in London and adjacent parts of the UK. One night in London I heard "whistling" under the AFRS station, and was wondering if it might have been a het from WWL.

Annoying, because I was trying to listen to NFL playoffs! ;D

I have heard AFN on 873 as well. In fact just had them in here two evenings ago

73

Allen in Newfoundland

AFN would be tougher to bag, IMO, as they carry a lot of American simulcasts...good snag.

Radio Rossii is scheduled to fire up Saint Petersburg (150 kW, on the Baltic Sea coast) and Lesnoy (250 kW, much further inland) on 873 kHz @ 0200 UTC (9 PM EST).

Happy hunting.
