88.1 FM KKJZ Long Beach starting to play 50% smooth jazz

I"m starting to notice that 88.1 fm KKJZ Long Beach is starting to play 50% smooth jazz and 50% traditional jazz. Most of the smooth jazz played on KKJZ is from the late 1980s to mid 1990s. Could KKJZ be doing this to pick up KTWV 94.7 The Wave former listeners? KKJZ could want to attract these former KTWV listeners so KKJZ can get donations.
