88.1 WEAZ having TX issues, or dark, ?

Is 88.1 Holly Hill experencing difficulty, tuned in for it for the first time in ages and nada, nothing there but tiny artifacts of WCRJ in Jacksonville if you strain real hard listening... Of course, I just flicked it over to 88.3 WPOZ and there it was... are they trading that transmitter in to upgrade 88.3 and build another new CP in Flagler Beach? Maybe that's it? Hope everything is OK.

WPOZ is upgrading to full C status after buying WLMS 88.3 Lecanto and turning in its license. They may have done the same thing with the Holly Hill station since its first adjacent frequency is probably too close to WPOZ's 88.3 dial position for WPOZ to operate with 100kw at 1,600+ feet.

Many thanks. Makes sense with the pending upgrade... hated to think they were experiencing difficulty at the TX or such. That's a great opportunity for them to upgrade the 88.3!!

88.3-WPOZ has upgraded to 13,000 watts ND. To do so required the shutting off and turning in of the licenses of 88.1-WEAZ, 88.3-WLMS and 88.5-WHYZ. If all goes as planned, after the DTV transition 88.3-WPOZ will make the jump to 100,000 watts DA.
