88.5 K203CB KGNZ Lubbock

yeah i know they had a CP to change from 88.5 to 88.7 and cover the city better, but ive tuned to 88.7 in my car and I pick up nothing (although that was sometime ago). If you go to the KGNZ website, it still says that its on 88.5 in Lubbock.

Are they playing music on 88.7 yet?

nope. I don't know whats been going on but i tuned into 88.5 the other night and i was hearing the KGNZ student ministries program, where they play Christian rock. I'm not sure if its just me, but the signal seemed a lot better than usual, however, they were still having problems with their sound. The sound would occasionally cut in and out. I tuned in the next day and they were off the air again, so I have no clue whats going on (havent ttried listening to it today though). I hope they are back on the air soon because I love their Christian rock program. It sounds a lot better than air 1.

Will it ever move to 88.7? I hope so because it would cover all of Lubbock county a lot better. I have no idea if this will happen because that CP has been on radio loactor for at least 2 years. I think radio-locator needs to fix a couple things. According to radio-locator, there is a 92.1, which broadcasts 97.7 out of Eastland, and theres a 97.7, which broadcasts KUFO from Portland, Oregon which is very odd. The other interesting thing is that KUFO is named Rock 101, which broadcasts on the same frequency and has the same name as the one here in Lubbock. So obviously, there must be a few mistakes on radio locator. If you tune into those 2 frequencies, all you will hear is static. Maybe they made a mistake about 88.7. who knows.
