88.7 Pirate Radio

It sounds like KSPC from Pomona College, which as noted above is apart of The Claremont Colleges.

That station can actually be picked up quite a distance away, albeit with a fuzzy sound.

From what I recall their transmitter is located on ground level there in Claremont, which makes it kind of interesting how far their signal can be heard.

It is the true essence of a college radio station with students playing their record collection and ranting on the air.
 
They have a some wattage behind the signal (3kw if my memory serves) and Claremont is quite a way up the slope of the hills.

Hmm. Might bring back some pleasant memories. Sounds like KRCL Thousand Oaks, where I Dj'ed for a while. I'll definitely have to plan a trip out there. ;D
