88.9 FM KETR is off the air tonight (and yesterday) as they are undergoing a major operation of moving the transmitter from a old out of date and worn out building to a new building right next to the transmitter for the station.
KETR announced this Summer that they would be doing a upgrade in the form of a transmitter building change.
during the building of the new transmitter building which will be right next to the old transmitter building which is next to the tower.
this new transmitter building replaces the old one which is over 40 years old.
the new transmitter building was completed weeks ago, but was gonna have the move be done last week, but it was postponed to this Tuesday due to rains that hit in Commerce that caused some flooding in parts of the Commerce area.
the move started yesterday and will be completed tomorrow with the station promising to be back on the air tomorrow by 5 PM
