330 watts and it's directional. Good luck with that.

And if you want to help them,

"Every 3rd Thursday of the month! Meeting of the Activist San Diego Community Radio Project Committee. Sub-committees will report back and have break-out sessions towards the end of this meeting."

Sub-committees and break-out sessions... wow, isn't that the way the Mays family started Clear Channel?

The group's website also notes that the founder, "has worked with numerous groups on a variety of issues related to the juggernaut of white-supremacist-capitalist-patriarchy," which should give some clues to a possible format.

I think that if they can do a good hybrid of adult alternative and anti-juggernaut of white-supremacist-capitalist-patriarchy they'll have a winner as the AAA/AJWSCP format shows up very well when measured by PPM (Politburo Peoples Meters).

I don't think this organization knows what it will take to build this station. My guess is they won't achieve enough short or long term funding,
and will lose/sell the CP, possibly to Calvary Chapel, which wanted it also.
They will need=
!. Studio(s) and all the hardware
2. Programming and air talent; be ON the air to serve the public interest.
3. Transmitter and site. Solar and wind power, ala KRTM. Multi-hop microwave or Satellite up/downlinks. Include engineering and environmental
fees.
Even with used equipment , the tab for this may approach several hundred thousand dollars.
Please feel free to donate to this worthy cause, Comrade.

I've come up with a good station slogan....

FM89.1 Marx The Spot!

If you had the right spot in Descanso you might do better than some would think: I know that along I-8 in that area you can see the ocean so the right transmitter site could have line-of-sight to populated coastal areas. If not, I know of one old uber-liberal retired English professor in Descanso who'd listen.

The CP shows a signal whose 60 dbu barely skirts Julian and Alpine, and that signal will unlikely even make it to El Cajon, let alone into any really populated area.

Of course, from that location on a map, all of the San Diego market appears to be to the left...

Here's some info about Monument Peak. CHP, and Sheriff repeaters cover Borrego and Hwy S-2 areas. Limited access to this area,
and 89.1's CP site is south of these points. Not a nice place to service in winter conditions. At night, Brawley and El Centro lights
are clearly visible.
