I think it could be innovative and exciting. Get some air staff, put up billboards, run TV spots, get catchy calls like WWCT----Classical Tampa Bay and promote it as the "new doctor's office station for patients who think". It could be run in tandem with the new Adult Standards station that some truly creative owner will bring to the AM dial.
The only way I see that occuring is with a station that is being used as a tax write-off. An accountant could explain that better than I can.

There are too many radio companies just trying to turn a profit these days.

There are standalone AM classical stations in Hartford and Kansas City. How they're doing I have no idea. (I would be VERY surprised if they have significant ratings... especially the Hartford station which is a 500-watt daytimer...)

WSRZ sounded very strong tonight going north on I-75 past Brandon. This may be a really dumb question, but if WSMR never gets technically correct (?)-------couldn't 103.9 be purchased alone and run as an LPFM. In Richmond, WCVE stayed with classical and somebody else put NPR talk on an LPFM at 97.3. Thoughts?

The KC station is part of the World Classical Network, but the Hartford station brings back serious memories:
WKAT-FM(Miami)<WTMI(Miami)<Beethoven.com(Miami<Hartford)<WTMI(Hartford)<WCCC(Hartford).

Yes Friday 10/15 for a short period WSRZ was running at low power using the auxillary transmitter on the auxillary antenna. This was due to a breaker nuiscence trip on the WSRZ main transmitter. I was on vacation and out of the area so the low power option was the only way to keep the station on the air. A friend close to the situation stopped by the site and put the main transmitter back on the air shortly after lunch.

As for WSMR the issue is with the Coast Guard and the politics involved therein.

I am not sure if I can elaborate any further but am sure the issues will be ironed out soon!

Thanks for listening! ;D

That will teach you to go on vacation!! :)

I've been listening to WSRZ as far back as when they were Oldies 106; your co-worker/friend did a good job of getting things fixed and the power levels back up. I know I'm not supposed to be listening though, since I'm out of the Sarasota/Bradenton market!

WUFT is overiding it.
89.1 is probably on just to validate the license. They must still be having issues in Nokomis.

Is 103.9 on, yet?
If is isn't, it will be now that 89.1 has a signal albeit a minor one.

89.1 is unlistenable in Eastern Tampa and 103.9 is not on. They need to do better than this. The program on 89.7 is something super-fascinating about home schooling. Comparing NPR talk to conservative radio is like comparing valerian root to a Camero engine stuck in D2

I would doubt that you will ever receive a very good signal on 89.1 in Tampa. Try 107.9 or 92.1, they are both on the same tower, but higher. This should give you an idea of how you should receive 89.1.

Which is why 103.9.

Try using an antenna with a better front to back ratio.
That probably won't help in MsMusicRadio's situation.

It is scratchy in Bradenton.

89.1 is probably only running, at most, 10% of licensed power.

No sign of them today, but WSRZ comes in great even in Temple Terrace

Nobody else on 107.9 is significant for your area.

89.1 does.

You can barely receive it in Tampa . If it doesn't get better, it would appear they are not serving Tampa
