Additionally the FCC has approved an extension of the STA for WSMR operating while necessary at the lower height and power (33,000 watts ERP) while the interference problems with the USCG Rescue 21 are still being addressed. (although yesterday and today during the day, there were times when the power was much lower (5,000 watts?) while additional tweaking was being done. I had a report from south Tampa that the only thing receivable yesterday on 89.1 was WUFT Gainesville, here on the fringe of downtown St. Pete, WSMR was receivable both yesterday and today, but just barely and the signal was not strong enough most of the day to trigger the stereo pilot light on the car radio or my Sangean radio indoors.
Late this afternoon, the signal increased to what has been the usual level for the last few weeks; but I'm noticing a hum in the audio chain, so there are still problems.
