I just wondered what the deal is with this "station" here in Greenville, PA. They have a website saying they have an all woman format and that they broadcast Greenville High football. But the only time they are on the air is during Greenville games. I was wondering like how they do that or is that is even legal or an actual radio station. They are not listed on radio-locator.com.

The only thing I have been able to find was this link, http://www.wpnofm.com/default.html though the listen live link has then playing Net Direct News as I type this and formatted as a local news station, unlike the website which mentions a Jane Radio type format. Perhaps they are gearing up for a format flip, I don't know but I am getting audio via the internet, but not sure how much of a terrestrial signal they actually put out.

It's called Part 15, there are very defined provisions in the rules where one can put a low-power station on the air without a license. Not very common here, very prevalent in places like Florida.

"Allen Media"? I wonder if long-time Beacon Broadcasting staffer Gregg Allen is involved.

There is a note on that Twitter account about EMF taking over the Beacon stations in PA. Not sure about "Jane Radio",and Gregg is not a woman...

I just thought it was funny that this "station" was on air only during games. And that it has a poorly made misspelled website with a format I never heard of, and that the broadcast area is basically northwest Mercer county. I dunno, it just seemed kinda weird to me, i only found out because on a church sign it says 89.7 greenville football and I saw on public access about it, and thats where I found out the "call letters".

Lol, come on now, a hobby project wouldn't cover the metropolises of Greenville, Jamestown, Reynolds, Transfer and Fredonia. lol Serving a whopping area with a population of maybe 10,000 with 3 hours of programming a week. A hobby prject sounds about right, I just wonder like is it even legal....
