Back in 1987 A CP was Issued for 890 AM Bethel Park Pa. with 2500 Watts Day. I know there were Problems Finding a Transmitter Site, as the CP Transmitter Location was Changed at Least 2 Times. Anyone Know anything about this Station?
One of the problems was that they could not sign on until after sunrise Chicago time. This would keep them dark until around 9 AM in January. Hardly worth it. WPLW was going to apply for 890 but decided against it for this reason.
I have on occasion picked-up a daytime signal on 890 while driving around the South Hills.
Generally music off of CD's or an internet stream. Highly intermittent. I always assumed it
was somebody screwing around with a homebrew pirate transmitter.
