890 gets the ALL STAR GAME

so I'm going out for a late dinner at 11 PM and the ALL STAR Game is not on RKO, not on 850, not on 1510,
not on FM

interesting that people had to go hunting for it.

Would've been a nice promotional push for the station to promote it in advance

Oh, it's been that way for a year or two. ESPN decided to put its programming on "24/7" (well, with
SOME local shows) via 890 and 1400 and pulled it off WEEI. All of it. Which means the baseball
playoffs didn't air (exc. for Sox games) on 'EEI either and I had to get one of those FM retransmitters
and find a station that DID run those games so I could hear them at work...since 890 and 1400
didn't have the strongest signal.

Tonight I did it again, and fortunately 890 was half decent. But again I had to put one radio near the
edge of my P.O. building and use a re-transmitter.
ESPN 890/1400 did run some ads (promoting Felger, etc.) on TV

I think the Boston papers didn't say the game would be on 890. They just said "Ch 25"

ESPN Boston premiered a year or two ago with a Sunday night baseball game just prior to
the All Star Game. I was in VT for the weekend and heard it as I drove back.
