890 is now an American outlet for Radio Beijing, the Chinese propaganda media arm. This used to be Radio Peking back in the cold war days.
The local news is really cool.....it's fun to hear Atlanta local goings on capsulized by Chinese reporters. And yes.....the country music is an interesting touch. You can make requests at "[email protected]"..........
Although the programming is sometimes clumsy, I like the different slant provided by the Chinese. There is even a learn to speak Chinese show on several times a day. I can't get a good start on my day without knowing what the weather in Beijing will be....
Isn't it time we acknowledge Chinese cultural and intellectual superiority and bow to our future masters??!!
