9 kHz AM Frequency of the Week - 1395 kHz

From Perth Australia, my only logging on 1395 is 5AA (sorry, "FIVEaa") Interactive Radio in Adelaide, SA, about 1,400 miles east of here at 5kw. The only other Aussie on the frequency is a 400 watter in NSW, >2000 miles away. There are a couple of Philippinos, China, Thailand, and Iran here too, but haven't ID'ed anything else yet. I have a local on 1404 which causes a bit of a problem.

I seem to be the only one outside of the US posting here at the moment. For a while there was someone in Afghanistan and one in, I think, Kuwait, but they've been absent recently. Feeling kind of lonely...

I have logged the following 3 stations on 1395 from here in Newfoundland

1395 khz - ALBANIA - Radio Tirana/TWR Relay, Fllake 20:04 UTC 1/7/08
1395 khz - NETHERLANDS - Big L Radio 00:18 UTC 7/2/08
1395 khz - NETHERLANDS-Radio Seagull, Harlingen 22:32 UTC 11/10/11

In fact Radio Seagull was heard again just this week and Albania Relay sounds like a local here most early evenings

While I was living in the Netherlands, during the early '90s, Albania was the big player on that frequency (the Dutch didn't have any 'locals' set up yet). I have them listed at 1000 kW at the time, though now I see they're rated at 500 kW. I see they close out at 2130 UTC, which is 4:30 EST, so even at winter solstice, from here that would be a very tiny window to snag them in... :(

The 500 kW Armenian Radiokanal Kavkaz/VoR would be a nice catch!

From here in Northern Ireland on 1395 I have logged:

Big L - Radio London - Sep 2007
Voice of Russia, ARM
Radio Seagull - currently listening as I type this (also available on my GlobalTuners node).
