90.7 KVIT

KESZ sponsored the Beach Boys at The AZ state Fair in 1988, when Kokomo Hit #1, and I was called backstage on remote to interview the beach Boys (I was 17 and knew nothing about them..lol) and then they pulled me out on stage and Thanked KZZP for making them #1.

In 1986 The Monkees and "That was Then this is Now" was a hit because of KZZP. Impressive Perry

to support 99KTKT, we played these songs because of the blockbuster movies they were associated with.
Old time RNR-Just a party spike

The song recharted in '83 because of it's prominent placement in "Risky Business". TC dancing to it in his underwear....

Actually, the main reason this song became a hit in '86 was because that was the year that MTV--back when they actually still played mostly music videos--dusted off the old "Monkees" '66-'68 TV episodes and ran them every evening. They had not been seen in many years and introduced a whole new generation to the "Pre-fab Four". The band--two of them, anyway, as the track actually was only Dolenz and Tork--saw their opportunity and got back together and recorded again.

Re: 90.7 KVIT-TRANSMITTER

We have a brand new, STATE OF THE ART..LOL transmitter from Nautell, and a PA broke and we're down to about 20% Power until Thursday when we will fix it. I guess we need some spare parts, and a backup Transmitter Now...lol...
So we're even fuzzier in areas we normally hit pretty well.

The Nautel should be a solid unit. The problem is that there are few, if any, other stations in town running their FM rigs (most stations seem to run either Harris or BE).
