90210 (2008-2013)

The three great tragedies of 2008:

1. My Grampa died
2. My dog died a month later
3. A "90210" rehash was somehow allowed to premiere.

It's a shock that it lasted half as long as its predecessor (1990-2000).

Not surprising: it stayed on the air longer than Gabrielle's old talk show.

I didn't know it was still on. Then again I hardly look at (or even think about) the CW and MY for some reason. I even have trouble remembering what channels in my market are the CW and MY affiliates.

This shouldn't come as any surprise to folks following the ratings. Even by CW standards, "90210" has been pulling in anemic numbers this season. This past Monday's episode notched a 0.3 18-49 rating; the week before, it was an almost unthinkable 0.2 18-49 rating. It should be noted both episodes were originals.

The first season was very good. It went downhill after season 2 and 3. Not to mention bringing in old cast members from the original series didn't help. The current story lines don't make any sense.

The real story is how long before it premiers yet again? :)

This! ;)

BTW I am reminded, maybe it was a TV Guide article, written when "Beverly Hills 90210" was still hot, rumors of filming in Canada. The article asked if the show would be called "Vancouver V6B 1H3" (something like that).

And the high school in the original 90210 was actually located in Torrance, a Los Angeles suburb about 15-20 miles south of Beverly Hills. There's only one public high school in Beverly Hills--Beverly Hills High.
