90s Euro:

As I posted at the tail end, of another thread,

Is there a sat_Radio channel, willing to showcase
the 90s Euro era of dance?

If so, (already ON) please tell me!
Or, if there is a reely good station that does so,
plz post the link ( i'm already aware of z103's
way back time machine on wednesday's : )
(way back playback : ) mix (1/2hr daily) on
CKEY/z101 from noon--til 1230...although that
doesnt always feature euro...

OK, iF NOT,
as i am guessing there is not a station to take care of my euro fix,
tell me why - ( jp)? / or tony S, tell me why...there isnt enough
of a *DEMAND* to 'house'(no pun) a show, or a specialty time slot, for 90s euro.

Backspins w/ Boesche?sp / waaas on bpm, i know - and im sure
he is still doing his thing, but his show morphed from
the wild and crazy 90s dance, to ... more ... AC/90s hits, or
maybe just pop40, 90s songs...he made a great 1st impression, then
after further listening, yes, i still listened (sunday 8pm/bpm) but...
wasnt heart broken if i missed it, or when it was yanked all together....

to all:
thanks for the input/reply.

im sry, but 90s euro is my fave dance-styLe!!

I think you know what 90s Euro is. Dont you remember a lot of the Dance music Y-100 played in the 90s?
You can usually recognize it based on the synth lines and catchy lyrics. It was very common in the mid 90s to either find a duo consisting of a male rapper and female singer, some reggae influences, or some incorporation of Progressive Dance.

Ohhh.

Out of ignorance I referred to the first set of songs you listed as "Night At The Roxbury Techno" ;D

But yeah, I grew up in South Florida listening to Y-100 and Power 96 so I'm familiar with most of those songs. 8)

yeah i totally loved euro dance as well. Reminds me of The Planet in buffalo/fort erie

"MOVE on BABY" (I'm listening to this) i had a wicked time
finding it/ trouble spelling the group's name, "slightly' off''

(thx chrles).

also:
cartouche, "touch the sky"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjAYoCY99Vg&feature=related
this mix, was taken from a cd, as u can hear it at the end.

click on ICE MC(if not included) when u see it on the side margin, of any
of the tracks that CHRles featured ( ( ( is that LES from CHR) ) ) or charles , missin the big ol' A ?

there is a TON of tracks/songs but i dont have the list (from the previous post) in
front of me, so i dont wanna repeat alot, or post , some thing that is "exactly'' euro...
and get off base...but, 90s/euro, best dance genre ever!

Well 90s euro back then was definately a very fun upbeat catchy style of music,, 90s euro, and the early 90s House was what got me into Dance Music, long before Trance, and Progressive and all these subgenre's were invented,, not that they arent great music too, but the 90s Euro from the likes of Energy 108, Y-100, WMGI 100.7 MIX FM Terre Haute, B-96 Chicago, Power 96 Miami,, and the early house and euro was also on 99.9 WBUS THE BUS,,, They went spanish in 95 or 96 I think.. WBUS 99.9 was a southside Chicago 50kw Torch, which was once receivable in Indianapolis during the 80s and early 90s, I dont know what they have done to their TX these days...Lack of maintenance maybe. .... And as far as the early house, we had Z-95 and briefly Hot 94.7 Chicago exposing that genre just like B-96, but they were long gone before Euro took off

Yeah, thats really early Euro before the male rapper thing.. I think Memories was from 89 or 90. I dont recall on what station I had heard it on, but I recognize it, and I know its really old, this came out when Freestyle still had a following.

I actually listed "Memories" by Netzwerk on the Euro list I made. Simply scroll down the list till you see it. Came out in the mid 90s, and was a huge hit on the radio in Italy.
Netzwerk had another hit, and it sounded just like "Memories". Take a listen to "Passion"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGqln10KCuw&feature=related

Double You came out with a very similar song and sound at the time with "Dancing With An Angel", which was an even bigger hit on the charts. Easily one of my favorite Italo-Euro records

Clubber, when you think about it, this was around the time that Makina (big in Spain) was born.

Do you remember when WCBR 92.7/Arlington Heights, IL (currently part of "Nine FM") carried the brokered "Cyber Radio 92.7" on weekends for a few months in 1997? Cyber Radio played Euro (along with many other genres of dance music), including these GREAT songs:

Nomansland - Fantasy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgOcysl6eLQ

Future Beat - 100% Pure Love
https://www.fairtracks.de/fairtracks/portal/album.do?categoryKey=Dance&albumId=8530&trackId=36183#
(The above is just a sample of the song - I can't find this one on Youtube)

Also around the same time, there was the very Euro-friendly Alfa 91.3 out of Mexico City, which played songs like the following (although I'm not sure if all of these could be classified as "Euro") --

Newton - Streamline
http://mx.youtube.com/watch?v=7eV9skkJagM

Deep Zone - It's Gonna Be Allright
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLcWeglnkUE

Mr. Dynamite - Wake Up
(can't find a sample of this anywhere)

I dont reconize those tracks by name, but if I watch the videos ive bet i heard some of them.. I remember Cyber radio 92.7,,, It was available on the net 24/7 and Jammin Down JD of Energy, I belive was part of Cyber radio.

Also Alfa Radio 91.3 is still around and still streaming,, it plays mostly Top 40 now, but it is still Dance Friendly on current dance.. They went Rhythmic CHR, and then Rock CHR, and now their back to mainstream CHR with some Dance squeazed back in.

Lets the list continue

MTS - I'll Be Alright

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ0vSVzC24A

Dreamworld - Movin UP

Yup, yup. Fun times at Cyber Radio 92.7. It was my first gig out of Energy 88.7 WLUW. Remarkably, I landed back at the frequency for the launch of Energy 92.7/5.

I remember a lot of great tracks back then:

Faithless "Insomnia"
Nomansland "Fantasy"
Gina G "Ooh Aah (Just A Little Bit)"
Crush "Jellyhead"
Fool's Garden "Lemon Tree"
General Base "On & On"
Aqua "Barbie Girl"
3rd Party "Can You Feel It"

Also, from that era (but not necessarily played on Cyber Radio):
Olive "You're Not Alone"
U Me 2 feat. Anka "The Night"
DJ Vertigo "Oxygene"
Alexia "Number One"

How about the Perculator-Baltimore Music Club
People Are Still Having Sex-La Tour
I'll Be Loving You-Collage
My Boo-Ghost Town D.J's
Doo Doo Brown-2 Hyped Brothers & a Dog

LaTour:

I referenced that "somewhat" obscure hit,
recently, and looked like a genius. It was
some one's (new worker) last name, and I
said, - oh, just like the group...
every one froze, who?

I said, the 1991, electro-Pop-band...
sure enough, a quick google search
cited: 1991, and used the word,
"electric" ( was it 1991, who cares, i still
looked pretty smart )

anything by the Shamen
Jump-The Movement
The Hitman-AB Logic
I'm Gonna Get You-Bizarre Inc
Love You More-Sunscreem
Girls & Boys-Blur
Stayin' Alive-N'Trance
Sexual Healing-Maximillion
Use it Up & Wear it Out-Pat & Mick
What's Up-D.J Miko
Evasions-Wikka Wrap & Wikka Wrap II
Tell Me-(Euro Mix)-Groove Theory
A Little Bit of Ecstacy-Jocelyn Enriquez
3AM/Twilight Zone Eternal-The KLF
