90s LA AIRCHECKS

Need advice on easiest way to convert tape to mp3. Line in on the laptop is best I suppose.

I found my box full of old 90s mixtapes -- including KPWR Weekend Kick Off Mixes from 93. Mixes from Z90 in San Diego circa 94. Some CHR type station out of Palm Springs on 100.5 w/ live mixing. I've also got a underground hip hop show recorded in MONO in 97 on 96.7 KWIZ.. It goes by the name "Smokin' Vinyl".

I'll be ripping these gems in the next few months.

That's right...though I'd really recommend you make the first pass to .wav, archive the full-fidelity .wav files on CDs, then rip to mp3 for playback devices after that.

And whatever you do...don't toss the original tapes!
