91.1 WDDE Now on the Air

I had an email exchange today with Tom Byrne, former Sports Director at WILM, when I was working there on weekends, now the News Director of the new 91.1 WDDE. Tom said WDDE does have the equipment, etc, to stream online and hopefully will have that up and running some time next week or the week after. So if you wish to hear Delaware's ONLY NPR station in NCC check out the Listen Now button at WDDE's web site once its available. I drove to Middletown today and couldn't get a decent signal on my car radio, so for most of us in NCC online listening will be how we hear new 91.1.

I guess 91.1 WDDE won't really steal many if any of 90.9 WHYY-FM's Wilmington Metro, NCC, listeners.

You're right. I don't think WDDE will steal many listeners from WHYY. The transmitter is located over 10 miles south of Dover and the signal doesn't go much farther than Middletown. However I think Joseph Leahy and Susan Geary are doing a good job so far.

I just checked, WDDE still doesn't have an online listen button, so most of us still can't listen to WDDE.
