91.5 - K218EJ is alive!

Another one of the phantom translators has come to life. It's not heard very well in Harris County. Identifying as KPCO-FM Cooper.

Well, that’s nowhere within the broadcast area for the translator.
Iirc the rules are different for non-commercial stations and their translators. A non-com can locate a translator anywhere. It's how KHCB has translators all over Texas and Louisiana.

Iglesia Cristiana Ebenezer is the owner of the primary station, so I assume it's Spanish Christian programming. Iglesia Cristiana Ebenezer

It's funny how the primary station's HAAT is 66.6 meters, like the devil's favorite number.

And something I just saw on RadioInsight's FCC report from today...

"In addition to WSYL, Iglesia Cristiana Ebenezer has turned in their license for 90.1 KWEZ-FM Caney OK."

K218EJ had been La Nueva. With its previous directional signal it could sometimes be heard faintly near downtown.

Not hearing anything on 91.5 at my Cy-Fair location, though the "new" 10 watt nondirectional signal (if on air) could be getting swamped by IBOC slopover from KXNG.
