91.9 WCLK

WCLK has a strong signal up here in north Gwinnett. I think it's finally triplexed with 97.9 and 98.9 on Briarcliff Road? Sounds good! I've waited for this for a while now.

Lots of stations and translators are on that tower: 89.3, 91.9, 92.9, 93.7, 97.9, 98.9, 99.7, 101.5...and 94.9 and 96.1 are rumored to be moving there from the adjacent tower. Some TV stations are on it also: WGCL, WATL, WPCH, WUVG.

I forgot about 93.7. It's one thing to share the same tower, but 91.9, 93.7, 97.9, and 98.9 all share the same antenna. 91.9 sounds really good up here and I love jazz. I've waited for this for a long time.

The problem with the signal at the old tower (the AM 1340 tower) was it was so low. According to the coverage maps, it appears WCLK lost some coverage on the west side. I wonder if that is just theoretical? With the added height, the radios in the lost coverage area might have a better signal.

Signal was pristine coming in this morning from Douglasville! Much, much improved!!
Congratulations to Wendy, Reggie, and the rest of the staff on making this happen. It's been a long, laborious process but I'm sure their listeners will agree it was worth all the effort.
Now all of you who enjoy the station and appreciate their tireless efforts to improve the signal should show their appreciation by making a pledge during their fundraiser!!

Is that the "new" Tower or the "original" candelabra that had 36 + 46 back in the pre-digital days?

It's the new Richland tower - adjacent to the old "Shepard's Tower" which is still, at least for now, home to 96.1, 94.9, and the 101.5/106.7 backup antennae.
WCLK is running into the same "panel" antenna used by 97.9, 98.9, and 93.7. All those station perform very well with that antenna - especially WCLK. Their signal is better because it is protected from interference better than the translators. 91.9 may not have great building penetration but the signal is very high quality with practically no multipath. The engineering on this one was very well done!
