910 AM Baton Rouge now AAA.. or something..

Gospel is out at 910 AM Baton Rouge. New (prob temp) format is some kind of AAA and alt rock hybrid. Playing everything from the Beatles to Green Day. This could be intresting if it stays. At least we got rid of another dollar a holler ;D

They've been playing the weird alt rock/aaa format since the end of May but not sure on the gospel but yeah weird to hear Green Day, Gorillaz and a few others like I beleive Blink 182 (from my post hard to hear the station)

But yeah figure they are in test mode as they recently were forced to move the transmitter to Zachary from Baker.

Anyone rolling tape? I'd be interested in hearing this.

I don't get it, what's the point of airing a "test format"?

Usually if you have just put up equipment on a new or moved station (which this station actually is, having moved the tower), you want to air something other than nothing or constant IDs to see how your system is performing. That's why you find a lot of new stations once they go on air usually air music from the engineer's personal music collection as opposed to the final format (where in many cases the studio is being built at the same time).

That's why you hear an eclectic mix of music before the owner finally takes over and programs the final station
