91X's future is intriguing to me.

Alright, so you all know I'm a long time fan of 91X (since about 2005), and since 2022, then-PD Garett Michaels was passionate about flipping 91X towards it's roots, making a more classic-leaning alt station, which it still is to this day. At first I was iffy about the move since I missed a lot of new music, but I grew comfortable to it as I realized they never abandoned new music completely, making it fun to catch all the new stuff they do spin.

Though recently, Garett Michaels has moved to a non-comm up in the pacific northwest, KSER/Everett, Washington. And it's been announced that Hilary Doneux, the music director of 91X since 2016, is also taking the Brand Manager job.

I mention this because as a constant listener, I've noticed the playlist has gotten a bit of a shakeup. New music spins are still one per hour as of now, but I noticed some of the gold-based songs from the 00s-10's have been a bit more frequent, as well as some classics that didn't get spun a lot now becoming rotation. I've been liking it, and it makes me wonder what else will happen under Hilary. What's cool is the station has been seeing it's best ratings in years, steadily staying around the 3.0-4.0 share for about a year now.

Maybe the top 91 could return? That'd be amazing.
