92.1 in Middletown

I was traveling south on rt 3 (Newfield Street) in Middletown, scanning the dial, and got to WLNG, but suddenly they dropped out and the stereo pilot was gone as well, actually they were covered over by what I thought was a dead carrier at first, but I turned up the volume only to hear a female voice talking about Jehovah. I was just about to pass Congdon Street which is where the Kingdom Hall is and less than a block after it was gone. I'm guessing they are part 15 from the very small distance they covered, but has anyone heard of them doing this before? I mean they aren't exactly a Spanish church in New Britain. This was between 6 & 7 pm, I think.

Part 15 FM will get about 200 - 250 feet at best on a very, very good car radio.

Wasn't there suppose to be a translator on 92.1 that was going to put a dent in LNG's coverage? I thought it was around Waterbury if I recall.

It is definitely not the translator, and the signal was pretty close to that distance range, I heard it for now more than a few seconds as I passed by the Kingdom Hall.

That'd be W221CQ, 55 watts from Naugatuck. I've yet to hear it so I don't know how well it's covering. That's the displaced W250AA that got kicked off 97.9 when WUCS moved to CityPlace I.

I couldn't pick them up on Route 69 in Bristol/Wolcott. I was still getting WLNG. It was fading in an out but it was still somewhat listenable.

Drove from NYC to Boston earlier this week and had WLNG on for a lot of the CT part of the drive. Didn't hear any interference from the translator, if it's on.
