92.1 in Tyler is now KRWR

Looks like Chuck's prediction might just come true. Would be nice to see Classic Hits return to 92.1.
92.1 has changed it's call letters to KRWR, typically radio stations don't change call letters for no reason.
That being said, it is still carrying ESPN right now.

There is a lot that will happen in East Texas in 2015. KWRW (Rusk) will do a frequency change and move into the Tyler-Longview area.

Would 92-1 & 97-7 (soon 97-5) cover the entire Tyler/Longview market with a classic hits simulcast? Odd they went with KRWR unless there is a plan to link it up with KWRW. Also to note, KWRW's Palestine translator has applied to leave Palestine and move to Rusk, still at Ch. 280, but with an upgrade to 250w. Assume that's to be used to continue the format in Rusk, utilizing the AM.

Very odd. There will be quite of bit of overlap between 92.1 and 97.5, with Longview on the edge of the 60dBu contour of 97.5. Would be a slight improvement over the current 92.1 signal in Longview.

Format? Does classic hits seem likely with KOOI and KDOK already established, and a lot of crossover with KKTX and even KTAL? Seems more likely a continuation of the ESPN radio format with better coverage in Longview. They may just be changing the calls to link them together and unlink them from the AM. Will be interesting to see what happens. Does anyone know the target date for 97.5 to go on the air?
