From RadioInsight:

"Paulino Bernal Evangelism sells Spanish Christian 92.1 KCZO Carrizo Springs TX to Cantico Nuevo Ministry for $100,000. The buyer operates a network of Spanish Christian stations in the New York City area."

Bernal has had this station for decades. As I recall, as early as about 1978 Bernal Evangelism was operating the station.

Paulina did have a large number of stations but would take many of them silent for upwards to a year indicating he might have over expanded. He once had a station in Camp Wood but let it go dark and lost the license that Houston Christian Broadcasters scooped up later. I found it odd that some of those stations he was about to lose, he wouldn't sell. It seems to me you'd want something for the investment.

I think he only wants to sell to Spanish Christians... The translator that's now trying to move into Austin for example was sold to a Spanish Christian broadcaster. That's one of the only sales I think he's had in recent times besides this one.
Maybe he only wants to continue the legacy of Spanish Christian programming on any assetts he has and nothing else. But then again maybe the Spanish Christian broadcasters he's selling to are just good at reaching out to him.

It just doesn't make sense to lose tens of thousands of dollars if not more that could be funneled back in to a ministry that was not financially rock solid at the time, because you don't want a frequency you aren't using to get into the hands of anyone other than a Spanish speaking ministry.
