92.1 Now K-Love, 105.5 Off Air

Couple of good AM oldies stations down that way as I recall. Somewhere around 1230 and I think 1590. They used to sound pretty good. Come summertime the oldies may well come back to 92.1

This could be good news, first less commercial stations in the market. Second, Clear Channel did a terrible job running the station. There are a couple of stations that cover the market better, and if one of them switches it could be good news for Oldies fans. By they way the old station playing a similar format is WMID 1340 from Atlantic City. WNCL is more of a Classic Hits station, WTDK is more 70's oriented.

1340 is also 1230, which is good for a nice station during the day.

The classic hits station you mentioned is a station I am pretty sure I commented on once after we listened for awhile. Not good at all during the day - at least not for a place of business - because it's just a lot of racket and failure to understand the concept of what it is she's really supposed to be doing with that microphone. It isn't a baby pacifier to practice with.

Why would they? K-Love didn't buy these stations to run them as secular outlets.

As with many religious outlets they buy the stations because they can get big dollars with or without an audience. They bought the stations only because Clear Channel had to get rid of stations as part of a deal, and they figured they could rake in money on religion. They don't necessarily need sponsors as long as they air certain programs a certain amount of the time.

1590/105.1 is a joke. The 80's Channel, a simulcast of their 1600/translators in Dover. An 80's station is not an Oldies station! That station is not going to reach the large retirement community in Ocean Pines, as well as around Long Neck. You want 50's music, check out WRBG-LP in Millsboro, Delaware @ 107.9, plus NO COMMERCIALS.

I just realized you previously mentioned WTDK. That was 107.1 out of Federalsburg and Easton, correct? The Duck? I remember that was always an excellent station too.

K-Love got an ok deal. Clear had to dump the stations because they had too many in the market. Now there are full power full market stations available for sale at a give-away price. I saw this on www.radiotvdeals.com
