92.1 real radio west palm beach

They scored a 1.1 in the last book, have an awful lineup, does anyone know why they stick to this and just don’t do an alt 92.1 iHeart radio station. Wpb has no alt rock and unless u live south of southern u can not get the shark. How is their billing?

I can’t speak to their billing, but remember that Real Radio also simulcasts on the Treasure Coast. The station seemed to do better when it was on 94.3. There just doesn’t appear to be a marker for Alt in Palm Beach County. Ironically, remember when that format was on 92.1 as “Planet Radio?” I think that was back around 2000-2001?

W227CX 93.3 and 92.1 WRLX-HD2 have the same distance and signal strength can only be heard from west palm beach to north palm beach.

In 1999, they upgraded to 90000 watts from 50000, it gave near all of palm beach county a city grade signal, in fact I used to get them
Well in north broward.
I live near the Lantana line and the reception still isn’t top notch. It’s always done better in the northern part of the county and in Martin County

Delray Beach to Boca don't even have a 60 dbu... and pretty useless for indoor listening south of Boynton Beach.

Besides signal, how is 92.1 as a talk station billing? They have a horrible out of market morning show. Obviously they swapped signals with 94.3 because Spanish was a better ratings grabber for the better signal

The Paul and Young Ron morning show from Classic Rock Big 105.9 in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market used to be simulcast on Real Radio, but that ended some time ago, I think when Ron Brewer departed in late 2016 and the show simply became "The Paul Castronovo Show" in early 2017 with a much smaller "supporting cast" and became much more music-centric with a lot less chatter and in-studio banter than had once been the case.

It is estimated at about 10th in the market in billing, but just below 20% of the WRMF sales level. Still, for a Class A that does not spend much that is likely profitable as part of a cluster.

Keep in mind that about half the market listening is to out of market stations. And WEAT and WRMF take about a quarter of all the local audience.

Years ago it was always a 3 station race between WRMF, WEAT and WIRK. It doesn't look like much has changed except WIRK's numbers aren't quite what they used to be. Palm Beach has a lot of signals to choose from. Those out of market signals cover very well!

92.1 had another 1.1, I wish iHeart would to a generic alt 92.1. It couldn’t be any worse than the ratings now. Also I wonder how well 106.3 ESPN radio does since they are never listed. As someone who listens from Hypoluxio and jog road, I listen to big 105.9 and 104.3 the shark more than any other stations and both are out of market

I listen in the same area as you. ESPN 106.3's signal is much better in the northern half of the county.

My guess is that iHeart will stick with Real Radio because it fills programming on two stations in two markets.

Two markets with no alt rock or even mainstream rock, big 105.9 has evolved but the gater remains classic
I've notice Big has added back more of the classic rock staples of late, (Free, T. Rex, Clapton, George Thorogood, Kansas) so they'll probably play the hell out of those tracks all summer.

There's some significant overlap between WCZR's coverage area and those of WJRR and WQMP-FM. But perhaps you are right and Alt would perform better in both markets than Real Radio.

Good point. Only 45% of the commercial radio share in the Palm Beach market goes to stations home to the market.
