92.1 Stunting Now

Iwould listen to this crusty format. I have been listening to Modesto's 840 am. It has a similar format. Comes in half way decent where I am and in the car.

Good to have some '50s/60s stuff on FM again. Anything other than burnt-to-a-crisp Beatles and Rolling Stones from the '60s is literally extinct from those so-called "classic hits, Greatest Hits of All Time blah blah blah" stations.

It's nice to hear, but not much of a viable format anymore as the aging demographic is NOT easily influenced by advertising anymore.

Speaking of advertising, 92.1's current stunt format is All Infomercials though it seems to be playing the same infomercial over and over again.

Seems like they should find a format and start selling it at some point! Oh well at least it something to keep an eye on.

Smooth Jazz 92.1 KSSJ - Your Relax and Unwind Station (without Kenny G). Anyone up for that?

Is there a possibility they would do a 180 and go with smooth jazz after all this " all the flavors of rock" stunting? I would like to hear smooth jazz on 92.1 and have 93.1 hd-2 go with "crusty oldies" . It would be a companion to "classic hits" on their analog and hd-1 and they wouldn't have to worry about ad $

I'd love to see the "Krusty" format move to 93.1 HD 2 since there's little to no chance of that format coming back to FM in Sacramento.

I suppose anything is possible. At this point I'm impressed with how much chatter has gone in to this peanut whistle reach in. :)

At one point, I recall the HDRadio.com website listing 50s & 60s Oldies to be on 96.1 HD-2 sometime in the future. The site also listed Triple A as the proposed HD-2 format for 100.5. It appears CBS Radio has put HD subchannels on hold for the time being, since all their local FMs only have the HD-1, IIRC.

IMO without HD-2 and 3, a radio station does not NEED HD.

I tend to agree.

Many of the stations don't have the sync correct from analog to digital. Not a big deal for some of the blow tourches but for 93.1, 103.5 and other stations that are weak to the NE part of the market, it's nearly unlistenable as my radio jumps from analog to digital and back.

Yep! As a foothill dweller, I had to disable HD in my JVC stereo in the ol commute car...
