92.1 Stunting Now

Re: Results Radio / 92.1 Status

Call media ventures or another bay area broker im guessing if you have $.

7x billing for valuation im guessing. Guestimate 4 to 8 million to buy that way. Of course it deprnds on what one wants to pay and what other accepts to sell.

One wouldnt pay to launch a new station just to sell. Just sell it and let new owner put whatever their hearts content on the signal.

Radio Insight is reporting that 93.1 might flip to country?????? http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/84582/more-country-less-classics-in-sacramento/

I know 93.1 isn't 92.1 but do you think it has anything to do with 92.1 moving to 101.5? Seems like a very weird move if its real.

Clear Channel is crazy. Why would you put a 3rd country station on the air? KNTY already covers the foothills well. And KNCI is the heritage station in town. What a bunch of idiots.

Unless Entravision is about to change KNTY.

I doubt Entravision is going to flip KNTY, since it seems to be holding its own in the ratings.

Clear Channel may not have the best cluster in Sacramento, but they're not afraid to take chances either. However, given that KHLX's best coverage is the eastern portion of Sacramento County this will be a challenge in itself.

Thank you very much. Finally! A sign of relief!

It was dead air when I listened around 10am this morning. However, I just listened about 30 minutes ago (about 1:30pm), and the loop was back on.

I read the article. Does Clear Channel own any other station with the frequency 93.1? This seems like a ridiculous move if true.

92.1 The Loop!

I've been out of the country for 2 weeks. Just rolled back into town to listen to 92.1 the loop. :)

At this point, I'm going to drive up to the transmitter with my laptop, break in and launch a wicked pirate station. Do you think anyone would notice? :)

Kidding of course.

92.1 The Loop was silent at 7:30AM.

I hear some paid program now @ 7:50AM.

How can they actually get money for airing that?

I'm getting to wonder if they're going to keep it. I remember that it was some special partnership deal to acquire 92.1 from First. First Broadcasting was asking for a high price, probably higher than what Results could pay outright at the time.

There's probably some debt involved in the property, other parties.

Of course, running a loop for 7 weeks after several months of an unacknowledged simulcast doesn't help them financially.

I think you have the right idea Michael.

My sources hint that theres no technical reason why the new format hasn't launched yet. There seems to be more to this story. Why either parties would want to let it go this long amazes me.

SHUT THE TRANSMITTER OFF! Enough!

Wow someone is testy. How about you just stop listening to 92.1 until there's indication something has happened. Maybe that's just easy for me to say since I don't live in Sacramento so there is no temptation to check in on it. This board has talked about 92.1 for years so I'm sure when something happens it'll end up here pretty quickly. Now go have a drink.

'92.1 The Loop' daily line up has been announced:

6am-10am The Endless Loop Mornings
10am-3pm The Midday Loop
3pm-7pm The Evening Loop
7pm-12am The Night Loop
12am-6am The Overnight Loop

Shouldn't this station be in Chicago? Perhaps they could intersperse the song " Here we go loop de loop" by Johnny Thunder with their programing.
