i was thinkiong there was an oldies station there at one time? what was the zoo before it was changed to this format? i was just in mobile last summer. i dont remember it being there.

Kinda* co-owned with an oldies station, WAVH.

WZEW has been Southern-Flavored-AAA for years. Mobile folks are lucky to have 'em; they sponsor lots of live music events. A real treat to listen to when wandering around L.A. Antenna located on the tall downtown building, although I see a CP to move it south, probably due to the newer-bigger building going up next door.

*I recall reading about ownership squabbles. Just pray that they are not eventually swallowed up by yet another BigConglomerateCo, with a resulting way-too-polished 'Today's-Favorites-Blah-Blah' format appearing due to "budget cuts".

/pours another cup of Community and turns up the KGSR stream even louder

Due to the fog, we've been catching signals we normally wouldn't last couple of days due to fog with East Central Texas (Lufkin/Conroe area) heavy in here Thursday and Mississippi/Alabama killing the locals on Friday.

Couldn't catch the zoo as I'm about 10 miles as the crow flies from the DVW tower in Vacherie but had the Mississippi coast like a local in here.

There are two AAAs in the state currently
90.9 KSLU Hammond (southeast Louisiana university's station) http://www2.selu.edu/kslu/ (with streams)
95.7 KROK Fort Polk (World Class Rock) http://www.krok.com/

BTW ZEW streams.... http://70.85.72.122:8020/listen.pls
I use Winamp to listen....
