92.1 translator in San Antonio is bad

It sounds absolutely terrible!
Here is a short clip. It's been like this for a week or two. This is the worst audio I've ever heard on an FM station. I like the Christian rap, but geez the equipment's really messed up. https://www.sendspace.com/file/zrl0tu

I was always surprised that translator was ever able to get shoehorned into the market. I always figured KNBT would've had a fit over it.

I understand it has a CP to move to 100.7 and will increase its power. Not sure if that will help the audio quality, though.

I imagine whenever they move their engineer will improve the quality. It sounded okay until a couple weeks ago when it was dead air for several days, then the audio came back and sounds bad now. Maybe a non-engineer tried to fix it but didn't do a good job.

I guess they're reading these forums. It's fixed now, but doesn't sound perfect. At least that staticy buzzing isn't there anymore. Still on 92.1.

I take that bad, the horrible staticy buzzing is still there... I didn't get a useable signal the other day and thought it was gone.

Someone just told me that 92-1 was struck by lightning, that's why the noise is there. But apparently repairs and the frequency change are coming soon. It will be interesting to see if the format remains the same when it moves.
